Beer And A Shave Tf Event

This was really fun and I think everyone had a good time. Nothing better than getting a beer and paying 9 baht each for a manicure, shave, and haircut.

Porno King in Thailand

Andrew Drummond got deep down in the muck to dig up dirt on a guy down in Pattaya who was awarded tax breaks for his business but has a long history of pornography.  I think the title of his piece says it all: THAI GOVT AWARDS TAX BREAKS TO U.S. ‘THAI SLUTS’ PORNO KING An American internet porn king who brought to the world such websites as ‘ThaiSluts’ and ‘Thailadyf*cking’ and ‘Asian Perverts’ has won approval from the Thai government to get tax concessions for his  new internet business

Thai Banking

Good tips on banking in Thailand. Especially regarding stuff you should do before you move here. I was lucky because I was already living and working overseas before I moved to Thailand so I already had a lot of this kind of stuff in place before I moved.

Six recruiters have been accused of luring 400 Thai labourers to the United States and forcing them to work, according to a federal indictment that the FBI has called the largest ever human-trafficking case in US history. He said they should alert the nearest district office or police officer, so action can be taken against the inspectors. Mr Ma

Frogs!

I don't live anywhere near a khlong.  But tonight I hear at least a dozen frogs going crazy somewhere outside.  I've never heard them before.  Where did they come from?  I know it pissed down rain tonight but you would think I would have heard the frogs before if they were around prior to tonight.  Where did they come from?  :-)

No Pets

Was it that big of a problem they had to make a sign?

Why?

Why do some things that are so obvious need signs?

The little things

Even thought Thailand (and especially Bangkok) can be hectic and frustrating at times one of the reasons I love it here are those little moments that bring a smile to your face. The other day I was at Tesco Lotus on Rama IV and I hear small footsteps coming up behind me.  I look down and there's a young girl about 10 years old walking next to me.  She has a beautiful smile.  She looks up at me and says "Good afternoon."  I didn't correct her but it was 8pm at night.  I said "Hello," and smiled
