I was wearing my "Are You On?" t-shirt the other day and a farang guy in the elevator in my building says "On what?" So I turned around so he could see the Thailand Friends part of the shirt and he says "Actually, I am. I've been on TF for years." :-)
Elvis Presley, The King of Rock and Roll, died 33 years ago today. Fans have flown from all over the world to his home in Memphis to pay tribute.
This has always been one of my favorite photos of Thailand's King that is often displayed in businesses.

Without giving it much thought I threw my TF "Are You On?" t-shirt in when I packed for my trip to Vietnam. I think it was Friday when I finally wore it. Just like in Bangkok several people shouted out to me "Hey, are you on?" One guy who was sitting at a little sidewalk food cart downing beers asked me to come and sit down with him and his shirtless group of friends (I had to decline as I was actually hurrying to get back to the hotel for something).

I think we've finally put a plan together for doing this event. If you aren't familiar with Waphen Pienjai please read the background section of the post at the end.
On October 9th we'll do a TF event to raise money to give to Waphen's family. Between now and then we'll also ask people in the poker community to contribute as well.
The location and format of the event are still being worked out but we wanted to have enough lead time so we can make the event as successful as possible.
Our goa

Our first night here we wandered around the hotel looking for a place to have a drink or two. We're not in the tourist area of town so we did quite a bit of walking before we found a place that looked like it had some pool going on.
