This isn't advertising, because I don't have a stake in this place... but my Dad and I spent a fantastic day out there yesterday (See photos) - Flight of the Gibbons in Chonburi...

DSC_5628.jpg Zipline down....

DSC_5636.jpg Safety at all times... even when having a drink in the tree house...DSC_5682.jpg Leaving the tree house.... DSC_5685.jpgWooden bridges...DSC_5714.jpgLast zipline is 300 metres long!!!DSC_5732.jpgAnd finally abseiling down... DSC_5740.jpg The Flight of the Gibbon experience is in Khao Kiew National Park - about 90 minutes drive from BKK.  The cost for the day is 2300+ thb.  But we got Thai price at 1750 thb because we had work permits or retirement visas.  There are other deals available including a two day stopover and 'Go Gibbon' which looked like a long obstacle course through the jungle.  They have a pick-up service in Bangkok or Pattaya which takes you out to the attraction

We had the 3 hours zipline experience, which covers 24 ziplines through the trees, a couple of bridges and abseiling spots.

It also includes entry into the zoo - which was an OK zoo, but nowhere near as nice as safari parks - smallish cages and not too clean.  At first, I was concerned about the cost and the safety - but the experience was great and safety was second to none... At one point I was spying on a Thai guide... he thought he was completely alone - however, he still adhered to all the safety rules, using his safety line even on a simple area.I liked this place so much, I promised the staff I would recommend it to lots of people.  I would definitely revisit, and if TF were to arrange a trip I'd join again.

SB - it WAS cool! I want to do the REALLY early morning one - about 5am. We didn't see much wildlife because it was too hot and the trees were full of fat Russians pretending to be Gibbons and whooping and screaming. But early in the morning it's quiet and cool and you can see wild deer, boar, monkeys, gibbons (sometimes) etc.

Wedgie? - I wasn't allowed to do the low ziplines, in case some of the people on the ground got injured by my landing gear...
