Yes, mermaids are real. Just like the tooth fairy, leprechauns, and Santa Claus. Often, around my birthday, we get together and have a good laugh at the expense of non-believers.

Actually the real ones used to be seals in their love season. Ancient seamen didn't have optics, ofthen crashed while trying to check what is it (because seals "sing" at rocks). Long therm at sea, no women, no fun and that's how fairytales are born .

Well there is one Thai mermaid and I know she's real, because she has been my gf for the past few years. Her name is Soraya and she extremely professional when it comes to moving underwater (http://www.thailandfriends.com/angle19).

I believe she was a shark or a dolphin in her previous life because what she can do underwater is unbelievable.

She gained a large group of fans - aquaphiles who worship her for what was posted on youtube and yahoogroups.
