Shirley Bassey has been going for as long as I can remember, and she still has a fantastic voice. Very distinctive, and a real star. The voice of several James Bond themes .

Dame Shirley ("Dame" or to give it its full title Dame Commander of the British Empire, is not a joke but a very high honour, the female equivalent of a knighthood) is simply a wonderful entertainer, she deserves all the success she has had, the more so since she was brought up in Tiger Bay, a very poor area of Cardiff and started the hard way. Just a fantastic lady
