From now on, dear friends, vote whores [] and other people who appreciate me:I have got my new assignment finally, originally it should have been Media Officer in Bosnia, but this did not work out (well, I knew that since late Nov. '07 - and it was because I was in Thailand in Oct/Nov '07 for finishing my house there). So I am going to Kabul/Afghanistan again (as I have been there before as a UN-employee in 2002) as a Liaison Officer. No problem with that as Austrians tend to keep themselves out of the line of fire (i.e. not being "heroes" but doing their valuable work in a way adversaries would not contest and tend to survive . Hopefully also this time as I did it in 2002!Fact is: My wife was not happy when I told her about the change - but she is supporting me! Thank you, my love, and I always will be with you!So there might be a cessation of my voting for you people, there might be a delay of answering messages and testimonials, as I don't know what my internet connection will be over there.Please be assured that I still appreciate all of you and all the kinds of contacts you are keeping with me. You just have to find out how and what my possibilities of communications will be over there. Even if I don't have personal contact with you, that I or you are just looking at each others profiles -   Whatever - keep on rocking and may TF be prosperous!See you soon, as I hope ;)Hzi

Thank you for your support! But sadly, I think that nobody would read about it.

This comes from my experience from other missions I have been to. You know, in the early 1990's, when I started my carreer abroad, I was very keen to tell everybody what I experienced. Later on, I found out that

a) most people did not care(!) and

that all people could not understand (yep, if you have not experienced something, you can't feel it!)

Therefore - please don't expect me to tell you what happend to me during the next six months (well, I know and I can understand that other people do like this - we have some prove here on this site and I can't and won't tell them being wrong!)

I'm not this kind of guy. I tell you that I'm going to Kabul now and I do not do it to be a hero! I will do my job there and this it is. And my job does NOT include killing people!
