Hi Tfers...I'm in need of some teeth fillings. I don't want root canal, enamel lasering or veneers.scary_dentist.jpg  Can someone recommend a good quality dentist who can fix my teeth without selling me unnecessary treatments?Travelling is OK, but central Bangkok is better.

ThanksDave

Bangkok Hospital Dental Center. It's full of professors from Mahidol University and uses top-notch materials. It would be better if you could catch one of these dentists at their private clinic. The hospitals and dental centers tend to be more money than private clinics. If it's only a small amount of work, it's not a big deal. But if your teeth are looking like a white picket fence after a tornado, it might be worth it to get it done in a private clinic. Will save you some serious scratch...

Dental Clinic in MBK, 5th or 6th floor, near atm and UP escalator to cinema/restaurant level. Didn't try to sell me a new set of choppers, with or without titanium jaw bone. Had 19 poisonous Mercury fillings removed in ONE hour and replaced with safe white epoxy. No novacaine either, save 200 Bht and one hour of pain is better than 6 hours of stiff face and drool down shirt :-) Three cute girls working on me at same time, a plus! One of them told me to squeeze her *** every time I felt drill hit a nerve, she squeaks nicely :-)

Chris, you're calling the pot black.... (although 19 replacements in one hour is a bit TOO fast).

(oh, hey, did you dump Carew for Bent?)

Bob, I recommend Dr. Veroj at Silom Dental super close to Chong Nonsi BTS. Very reasonable, and furthermore, MM's suggestion to work down the price is applicable here, too.

I go to Silom Dental www.silomdental.com

You cant get any extras in Thai dental surgeries i.e. laughing gas or hard anaesthetics (think they get stolen)

For these you have to go to hospitals.

When I went they give me a tablet to take an hour before arrival (im **** scared) but it did **** all so topped it off with a bottle of Sangsom.

Beej, rather be strange than herd. :-) I suppose you liking drool down your shirt for 6 hours is normal? Pain killers are more fun when you're not in pain ;-) 19 in one hour! I had a date for dinner that evening, 4 hours later, it was perfect.
