Does anyone else find it interesting how this subject splits opinion right down the middle, and that Thaksin supporters seem to be less vocal on the Internet and TF or considerably less in number?

It somehow reminds me of watching the OJ Simpson trial and watching all the black students cheering and applauding and all the white students crying and raging.

They are less vocal on TF, but not on Thai language internet. My understanding is they have a "war room" of posters so to speak in a certain part of town, the name escapes me at the moment, paid to fill up pantip, sanook, etc. webboards with pro Thaksin posts.

Sorry, jnathan, but you are incorrect. Economic growth was far higher during 1985-95 under Pirme Ministers Prem, Chatichai and Chuan Leekpai. During those years, Thailand had the fastest growing economy in the world.

Thaksin was a minister in the Banharn and Chavalit governments, though, just before and during the collapse of the economy.
