God, sometimes my job, the weather and this awful country depresses me!!

Had a client in today, referred from court after a violent robbery; has 3 kids at home aged 7, 5 and 18 months. Uses up to £40 worth of heroin a day and also uses crack at weekends. Said the only reason he came to see me was so I could get him a 'lockbox' to keep his syringes and heroin away from his children! Is that really what parental responsibility comes down to these days??

It's raining outside, it's cold, it's miserable, the price of beer and petrol has just gone up and its still 8 to 9 months till I return to Th for a visit.

Yes, I need some sympathy!!!!

I don't think you need the sympathy, god damn that guys life sounds messed up, sad to see how some peoples life gets thrown down a drain so easily.

8 or 9 months b4 thailand? feel sorry for ya............come to hawaii, the weather's great here..........lol

have more sympathy for his kids than for him - we offer so much help and so many pathways out of addiction that he could have lowered his usage or even moved to substitute prescribing by now. with 3 kids that young you would think that the motivation is there to change. some of my clients are great; so honest and really want to get out of the rut they are in, but others dont care and just come to us to avoid a prison sentence!!
