Sometimes you have to shake your head as to what some people do to be perfect. Take the Bejing Olympics for example. The problem with today's society is that it was raised by traditional media. A media that gave us perfect people, with perfect smiles, perfect skin, perfect grammar, and perfect lives, but it failed to remind us that those perfect things were never actually perfect. So when people like me who are real...(At least I think I am), put themselves in the eye of the the so called masses?, they will always fall short. News flash!, I'm a human being. Most people who are lost in life may feel lost for this simple reason. Some day people will teach tomorrow's society how to be themselves again rather than faking perfect. Life. and so on and so on and so on.I've never thought of myself as a perfectionist and I never will. Hell, I'm not being the sort to wipe every last finger smudge from my walls!.We make matters worse by buying in and then judging each other. A few days ago I was beside myself when this kid came over to another and criticized him for not having the latest Nikes "Yo, those are weak" he says of the pair he had. Seriously?, we need to give up the feeling that we have to master everything in our domain. It's all BS. What we need to do instead is make peace with ourselves.CB(Derwin)

I agree with ya and it starts with awareness of the media image as not the standard. Avoiding commercials helps, avoiding TV helps more. The media image has done alot of harm to the female image and male too I'm sure.

man I got that at school because my nike airs didnt have an air bubble lol. But I was a tier above dunlop kids still at least.

Most ppl know in their heart that what we get fed through the media are not real... 85% fake at least... But oddly, most ppl automatically fall into the trap of believing it... Even for just a few seconds. It's harder to come to senses when you're a kid tho.

incidentally, CB... the first step in changing the 'traditional media' is doing what you're doing... rejecting, as a consumer, images of perfection.
