I guess you guys here would probably have heard about Full Moon Party at Koh Pha-Ngan, or some might had attended. I myself had a chance to join this incredible crazy joyful party back in 2006. A friend of mine and I were hopping from one bar along the beach to another for dancing till next day in the morning. It was really fun, but pretty hot till I had to take off my shirt before sunrise. Almost every night that this island provided party such as Jungle Party, Half Moon Party, After Party (set up right after Full Moon Party is finished) and so on. If I own a bar there then I would probably set up the Quarter Moon Party. Hehehe…..I have always heard about Full Moon Party from Thai media and mostly was in negative way. Drugs. Sex. Crime. Accident. But after I had joined the party then I realized it was nothing bad at all. Because it was all depends on people who want to have fun time. "It's not what you do, but it's how you do it".   So how about you guys? What do you think about Full Moon Party? My opinion on Full moon party is indistinct since i never experience by myself

to be honest the attitude has been changing by times...

i ever had a biased thought about that party because of the media and the words of mouth.. Drugs..Rape..thievery...fighting and crime..

but after some time hearing from those friends who ve been there ( more than once ) .. how much fun they had..drink dance drunk.. and everyone took care of each other

it's not a dangerous place (as they always stick together )

I think it would be fun to go there with good companies..

Think I am pretty experienced to comment on this. Lived on Samui for 2 years, working as DJ, and played on Pha-Hgang most weeks too. Was regular at Backyard, as well as half and black moon parties. So, I think the drugs part is pretty overblown. at least these days. Yeah there is some but not as much as some people think (my own view is who needs stimulants when Thai red bull is as strong as it is!!!). What there is tends to be hash and mushrooms so at least natural.

Music (well where I played lol) was excellent. Always lots of choice; from trance to techno to d'n'b.

People; here lies the problem. You get a lot of assholes; rude, ignorant, aggressive. People who piss evrywhere, drop their bottles anywhere etc etc. What they forget is that othe rpeople have to clean that up!!! It doesn t take lot of effort to lift some rubbish and stick it in a bag or walk and extra 10 yards to get rid of your bottle.

But mainly you meet friendly and fantastic Thais, Brits, Ozzies, French, German etc etc etc.(etc for Israelis - personal gripe against those guys)

I had a great time; some of my fave gigs were there. The backyard is like the Full Moon afterparty and can soemtimes last 2 or 3 days!!!! And have had situations where I have not slept and have been finishing up and the crowd havent let me leave the decks!!!

So perhaps the best 2 years of my life and looking forward to returning early next year!!

my first time was 4 years ago with my friends on here lol 4 girls and 1 guy =)

my second time was 2 months ago with my thai boxer friends (7 guys and 2 girls)

my third was 2 weeks ago with 2 french men, 1 kiwi and me lol

and going there again on the 14th this month
