SCAD
Bangkok is one of big messy city. You are probably can find almost everything you want here. People in Bangkok seem to be in a rush on their daily basis. Going from here to there. Doing this and that. If you have free time then just take one day to be an observer the life in this big city. Then you may see something different that you might have never thought about it before.
There are various kind of people who living here. Some are Bangkok originally born or we called “Bangkokian”. Some are tourist. Some are people from countryside. Some are rich. Some are poor. And some are homeless. It is not only a human being can be homeless. There are also a lot of stray animals (rat and cockroach are not count) living together with us in this mess city. Errr.... What am I talking here???SCAD stand for Soi Cats and Dogs or formerly Soi Dog Rescue (www.scadbangkok.org) is a not-for-profit organization for stray dogs and cats. I found their adverting on the Guru few years ago and finally had a chance to visit their place where they cure those injured ones early in Jan 2007. It was pretty difficult to find as their location was like in the middle of nowhere. However, I eventually arrived after made several phone call to ask them the direction.
It was such a warm welcome because there were few dogs standing and wagging their tails in front of the gate once I arrived. I talked to some staff in various topics mostly about how they treat those dogs and cats. I did donate some money and gave some extra to a boy to buy dogs and cats' food from nearest mall. I was playing with dogs and shooting some pictures of them while waiting for their food to be delivery.
I had a good time there though felt a bit sad deep inside and I think only people who love animals (dogs, cats or whatever) would understand what I mean. If some people have more responsibility then there will be no strays. I only wish!
I heard that they have moved to another place as I was thinking to go back to visit them again in the future.
