And yes, after a few hours I felt better and finally can speak fine before the event time. But after a few hours talking and I also sipped some wine (not more than 2 glasses) I have difficulty talking again. I’m pretty sure it got worse coz of the alcohol. Taking 4 kinds of medicine plus drinking lots of hot water/tea whole day today helped nothing but gained 1.5kg!! Though not much coughing but I cannot speak. 

I swear, I will never ever drink (alcohol) again when I got sore throat plus lost voice. I hope I don’t have to go to see doctor but getting a lot better by tomorrow coz I have an appointment on TUE to visit my dear (ex)bossy and my team. I misssssss them load!

Maybe better to go see doctor quickly dear. I think the interviewers will understand when they hear your voice. Maybe you can reschedule for later this week.

Its not the alcohol, its all the chatting with your friends while you have a sore throat. Take some honey to sooth it.

Cold wet towel??? I thought I have to cover my throat from the cold or even wind to avoid sore throat. O_O

Gargling with warm salt water may help some. Do it about once per hour today.

I used to have the same problem on 25 Dec; I drank a lot for company year end party. I had no voice almost 2 weeks.

I drank almost every day due to a lot of party on my holiday.

Please try to avoid alcohol for your recover Take care and good luck with your interview!!

Amazing how many Thais **** around by taking antibiotics for ANY sickness at all. Is it any wonder why there are SO many types of antibiotic resistant bacteria in this country? He's a hint: If you're sick, GO SEE A DOCTOR. You have NO CLUE what you have and are probably HARMING YOURSELF by just going out and randomly taking antibiotics. True ignorance.

I agree with MM. Here you even can't get any antibiotic (and other medicaments) without prescription from a doctor. I'm always amazed how easy it's i Thailand to get a medicamt at the pharmacie.

When I got a sore throat, antibiotics always heal. It's not necessasry to go to doctor for any illness here, esp* for me. I don't get sick that often maybe once in a year or even longer and in that past 22 years, I been to hospital not more than 5 times (first 5 years, I cannot remember). So I know myself pretty well, but yes I could be wrong anytime. Hope not this time.

Amazing how many smartass foreigners **** around by saying what Thais normally do are just plain stupid because they don't do this in their own country, esp* those arrogant ones. *la la la la la*

You might be interested in the part about MOST sore throats not responding to antibiotics. But maybe you just never ever get viral infections like, say, the common cold. You're probably right. I mean, what would doctors know...
