I've worked quite a few fashion weeks in Bangkok over the years ever since the very first one, and to this day they confuse the **** out of me. Personally I'd like to see more than one venue, making it more intimate and creative like many of the European fashion weeks, giving the small designers their own venue helping them gain some experience and press.... I've thought a few times about funding something like this, running it on the same dates but at different times. So many of the best collections in Europe are seen at the smaller up and coming venues with fresh new designers.

And another thing, it stinks being called winter/fall/Autumn and all that.... Thailand ain't got no fall, or much of a winter, its silly.

What you are seeing these days on the runway go straight to the rack for people to buy. Me too, wish that designers get more creative and really put on a big show. We have section of upcoming new young designers here and there, but they are all flopped. They also have tried different venues, but it's inconvenient to international buyers. Now it's reduced into 2, just to go with the world schedule. Spring/Summer fashion week will be BIFW at Paragon and Fall/winter will be ELLE at Centralworld. Spring/summer/fall/winter/crusie/holiday 6 or more collections a year, sell more clothes. Every time i go see the shows, i see less and less creativity. Pratunam and Platinum mall is killing Thai designers.

I've missed Bangkok fashion city project ( minus corrupted politicians who took all the money and ran, instead of putting into it. )

I enjoyed one about 2 years ago, was at Central and a really big creative show.

Given up on it since then, normally pop by on the closing night to say hi and catch up, but its lost its edge and soul. A new generation of designers that think out side the box and create their OWN scene is whats needed, the old crew, though all very nice people have started to produce boring Primark tat.

Hey why do I care, I ******* hate fashion more than anything in the world, wearing only free clothes that are piled up in the corner of my room in a heap.
