Stunning footage...

I have always been a huge fan of the BBC's nature programmes, especially when David Attenborough is involved. Their current series, Nature's Great Events, has had some of the best footage I have seen yet. Here are a choice few clips; in the first, the diver was filming gulls feeding off a herring bait ball, when a humpback whale appeared feet away and took the whole ball in one gulp, the first time such close up footage of this has been filmed. In the second clip, some great footage of a polar bear's cub first forage on the ice...  This third one is some great time lapse work on the summer melt in the arctic...  Penultimate clip is the massacre of the sardines off the East African coast... And this last clip shows that the small guy can sometimes see off the big guy...

Great stuff. Reminds me of the other day I met Plafair in Kensington for a coffee (Thai embassy is there)

so I insisted in taking her to the natural history museum to see the big blue whale. I have loved that place since I was a kid. Love the one in NY also.

All the most wonderful documentaries seem to come from the BBC - they are true masters, and of course no nature doco would be complete without the Attenborough touch!

Pure Gold!
