The second part of my week with daddy today. We decided to go and visit Grandma in Linlithgow. Linlithgow is a lovely little town between Glasgow and Edinburgh, full of pretty shops and houses. It was a really nice day, so we went down to Linlithgow Loch. It was very pretty with Linlithgow Palace up on the hill.DSCN1422.jpgThe loch was busy with fishermen and people sailing. DSCN1423.jpgBut I wanted to feed the ducks and swans. DSCN1435.jpgA nice family of swans came over for some bread.DSCN1444.jpgSo I gave them some too.DSCN1437.jpgBut this one wasn't interested in bread. He just wanted to sleep! DSCN1420.jpgBread is nearly all gone now. Last crumbs!! DSCN1441.jpgThen I found this chair carved from a tree trunk. DSCN1446.jpgAnd even got a nice pic with my daddy (he is usually taking the pics)DSCN1448.jpg Then it was off to the playpark for some fun. Wheeeeee DSCN1424.jpgGrandma kept a close eye as I climbed up. DSCN1430.jpgand again...DSCN1429.jpgThen it was time for fun on the bouncy horse! DSCN1450.jpgand a walk across the rope bridge... DSCN1431.jpgDSCN1425.jpgThen it was one last shot on the slide, backwards of course!! RSCN1458.jpgThen, of course, it was time for my favourite thing...Ice Cream!!! And strawberry flavour too! Yum. DSCN1432.jpgThen back to Grandma's before heading home. Bye till my next journal everyone!! DSCN1463.jpg

Lol @ Stevie - no photoshop mate. Last Friday was awful, but Saturday saw the typical Scottish schizo weather swing to a stunning spring day!! And it's not a castle, it's a palace lol.

First pic looks like Linlithgow Palace has got something like a space-beam antenna installation.

Cutie, don't worry if you once see your daddy dancing a strange time-warp with a guy named Dr. Frank N. Furter. We expected that.

well spotted Berlin - this is actually St Michaels Kirk next to the palace. The spire is actually 45 years old (the church itself is about 5/600 years old) and is meant to represent Christ's crown of thorns (hmm - done in 1964 - I think lsd may have been involved)

On a side note, residents of Linlithgow are known as 'black *******' , from a story of a man sentenced to death by starving on an island in the loch. His faithful black greyhound swam out to the sialnd every day with food and saved his life (much cooler than Greyfriars Bobby!!!) The Black ***** pub is one of the oldest in Scotland. So it may be the only place in the world where you can get away with calling everyone a 'black *****'!!!!

Linlithgow is also the birthplace of Scottie from Star Trek (the character not the actor)

Hah, that's what the colleagues of speaking snakes and bushes are telling you inhabitants of the land of dragons and malt whiskey. I'm sceptical ;-)
