A British guy finds out the hard way why you don't get aggressive with Thai people.  

Unfortunatley people who act like he did give Farang a terrible name he's the type of person I avoid here in the UK let alone on holiday.

At the same time I do not like seeing acts of violence used as entertainment, although some people may find this amusing I just think it's extremely unpleasant to watch and prefer not to see anyone get hurt.

Violence is not the answer its the problem.

this is spot on in several ways. firs the brit is a total ass hole. second the thai punch comes from behind the guy and he never sees it coming. then they punch him a few while he is down.

He got what he deserved as far as getting hit. but several of the staff ( i assume) kicked him in the face after he was out cold. thats just sad.

In the west if someone was hit from behind every time they hit the counter there would be no bars. People usually have bar fights over more substantive matters!

Being an idiot doesn't warrant being assulted, no matter how culturally inappropiate you are. Being aware of the cultural propensity for violence in a thai bar if you act like an idiot is one thing, condoning violent behaviour is another.
