Since Thailand does not really have any cool restaurant / nightclub establishment that made especially for TG community and their admirers, (not include the punter scenes like go go bars , brothels, massage parlours or even Gay nightclubs where straight people rather feel hesitated.) which i personally think giving our TG community a bad name. Anyway, AsiaSF is originated in San Francisco, it is a basically a dining club where regular working people of all orientations men and women come and enjoy dinners , their drinks, parties and a good show, which they are called gender illusionists, entertainment all in one and they seems to be doing quite well on  the westcoast. There is one in Bangkok called Calypso, but not exactly like this, its just a typical cabaret show style, bed club has a lip syncing but only 1 night a week and it's a gay theme night. This one is somewhat a western coyote sorta kinda, but no stripclub. Would this be a good niche market to work in Thailand? ( You can steal the idea since i do not have enough money to invest on this LoL ) Opinion welcome, but no bigotry.

Calypso is a cabaret show. It has been around for a long time. Nothing like brothel from what i understand. http://www.calypsocabaret.com/

i think with a good management and creative on the show for each dancer (not just dancing all night long and not a complete show like Calypso) would be a good and nice market. i like to explore new things so i wont feel akward or get shy to check up in all kind of places. and i do believe that there are many straight people out there who are a bit shy to attend/join so it would be nice to have places that "everyone" feel comfortable to have a good time... without feeling left out.

Looks like a gogo bar but with fewer girls,not my bag.

If the scene was for everybody though it would be fun.

I like places where the girls (or whoever`s doing the dancing) actually likes/love to dance and not getting payed for it.

Went to a place in Hong Kong and it was actually more people dancing ON the bar than on the dancefloor it was a bit hard

to order a drink between somebodys legs but the place was so much fun.

Many great nightclubs PAY dancers to dance on stage. It is quite normal. A place you mentioned in HK is a different scenario. - I do not think you get the concept.

I got it I´m just saying its not my bag and I didnt say it was a gogo bar I said it looked like one.

If I want to go to a restaurant I´d rather go to just that a restaurant that concentrate on good food.

I know a lot of nightclubs pay to have somebody dance and some are absolutely great but

in my mind a woman (a guest at the place) that really knows how to move and really like to dance is far sexier.

Dont get me wrong I have no problem going to a place like this and I probably will have a good time but Its still not my bag.

i think its a good concept, I have seen Tiffany in Pattaya, thats a good show, but a lot bigger then what you have in mind i think, also have to be carefull to keep it classy

I don't know anything about the Calypso dancing girls but I do have a great respect for the Gay clubs of San Francisco, NY and London as that scene has always been at the forefront of incredible music. As a DJ I have to appreciate all the fantastic music that came out of those underground clubs especially in the 70's/80's. Unfortunatley though I can't invest in your idea SweetieB as I want to save for my own jazz venue first.

Actually SweetieB the 80's thing is sort of over here in London as it al seemed to go a bit far, not sure what the next big thing is but I think its gonna be a lot smarter than the 80's revival, I have a feeling it may be 50's styling with smart well tailored clothes for guys and nice skits and cardi's for girls. I could be wrong but that seems to be the looks I am starting to see on my nights out.
