shortyg 1 Posted August 25, 2009 Report Share Like the video but really not in to the 8 bit programmed synth music as there is so much more you can do with these instruments. Lots of people are doing it here in London at the moment and a lot of them have no understanding of music they are just latching on to the retro sound with no understanding of the chips are used to create these sounds. Check the site I have been making for my friend Ed Chocolate, this site shows you how to make real instruments out of old sound circuits you can play live rather than rather than just using a few blips and a sequencer. The site is not quite finished but you will get the idea. We have just been featured in the UK edition of Wired magazine I believe the article is still on their website as well. Check my site out on www.circuitbenz.com Link to comment
Neutron 0 Posted August 25, 2009 Report Share Cool video But sound chips are for *******. Real programmers control the speaker directly with the CPU Link to comment
Stramash 11 Posted August 25, 2009 Report Share I have to slightly disagree with Sean - I think the makers are trying purely to make a soundtrack that sounds like an old video game, arcade or home, rather than a piece of music for release or general consumption. A very nice homage a la 8 bit Link to comment
