I had a bad day. Then I had a horrible evening. One of my staff called in sick, then a shop's computer crashed because of a virus. Nothing too bad there except for the fact that I have 100 other things I need to do rather than sit in Pantip for two hours. The rest of the day is normal, as normal as a day can be...but I just don't feel good all day. I cancel dinner plans with "bangkoknights" as I just need to go home and relax. I get home and bring Yoma (my dog) out for a rollerblade...We do a few laps, and then...his leash flies off! A buckle somehow just fell off. This is a get out of jail free card for him so he runs around like...a dog off of a leash. He forgets the "come" command during this state of elation. Then a pickup truck comes...not fast, but still gets me really worried as I race toward them. Then it happens. *Thump thump*I'll never forget those two seconds ever, and can't get it out of my head now.Yoma cries out twice and then everything is silent. Earlier in the day I had been thinking about him. No matter how bad anything else goes in my life, he always makes me happy. During this instance I thought about that thought...about how "it" could be gone. He is only 2.5 years old...he is only 2.5 years old...my baby.I do a full skeletal check on him...no major fractures and he is aware of what has happened. Security guards sit and stare, and after a minute the driver of the pickup pulls off. I'm hunched over on my knees in a state of shock.I end up taking him to the emergency room with my wife. By now he is limping around on his own. I've cleaned a gash on his head. "Doctor" did a check and cleaned his wound more thoroughly. At the end he said the dog was 100%, put a cone on his head, and gave me a 1500 baht bill.  "Shouldn't you check his eyes for a concussion?"I said.

"No, you can't tell if he has a concussion for 24 hours." What about bleeding inside of him (internal bleeding). How do I check for warning signs?" I realize that my Thai sucks once I get in a hospital."He is happy and interested in things like a normal dog. That means he will be ok.""Yeah...thanks."So we're at home now...he's allowed to sleep in Mr. and Mrs. Admin's room tonight. I'm still not 100% sure he is ok, but nothing is broken, and he survived a freakin' truck rolling over his chest. Regardless, he is not a happy camper as you will see from these photos.   Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket PhotobucketLet's hope that he gets back to his normal self soon.  Photobucket

This makes me think of Santos. He likes to run without a leash. Nothing can be more fun for him than to be able to run free. I have to be carful with letting him running around.

It's sad. Dogs can't tell what's wrong with them. People who don't have dogs or don't love dogs won't understand the feelings of the dog's owner when something like this happened.

Keep us update, Rob.

So sorry to hear about this. I really hope all will be ok with Yoma. Looks like such a lovely dog (could be the twin of my dog). Just a thought, I have had an experience with a local vet here in Canada. After which I got a second opinion from another vet who came to a totally different conclusion and worked out very well for my dog (she was facing surgery as recommended by the first vet). Maybe it is worth seeing another vet if your not happy with the first one u visited ?

Anyways, best wishes to u guys.....

DaMn !! i pity that sweet looking dog.But i am sure he will be okay if nothing was broke, because if he is happy and interested in things like a normal dog than its okay.

My dog was killed when he got hit by a car, so I know how bad you must have felt. Looks like he is going to have a nice scar as a reminder.

Give him a day or two and he will be running around as normal.
