Bed Supperclub  5636.jpgQuote " VIP ME - Common questions among the guests often revolved around our exclusive membership card, ‘BED World.’ Some wonders how much do I have to pay in order to get the card, what do I have to do to get the card, while some are clueless as to what this card is all about. First thing you should know about our exclusive membership card is that it’s not for sale. Each guest that holds this card has been nominated, the management then looks at the profile and offer the card to that particular guest. Besides the VIP phone line, priority parking, and free entry to all of BED’s events, BED World Card Members also receive benefits from other clubs in Asia such as the members’ only chic club, ‘M1NT.’ Lately, we’re thinking if we should come up with a secondary card, something that other loyal fans of BED Supperclub can actually purchase. What do you think? " Quote

It's been covered before - there is a member card and a Bed World Card.

The Bed World Card is a black card with your name on it. You have to be nominated by Bed directors or other card holders. It's for people who have shown loyalty to the club over a long period.

I know the elitism bothers some people, but look at it from another perspective - it is a reward for patronising the club and spending big money. Alternatively it is a way for directors to welcome friends and relatives to their club.

If I was a club owner, I'd have a VIP card - it's good business sense.

When there was a VIP opening party at Sound, I had some complaints from local people who felt aggrieved that they weren't VIP's.... they asked me WHO are your VIP's? My answer was, VIP's are the friends, families and employees who have worked their asses off for the last year to open this club. The biggest problem was that everyone wanted to come and eat and drink free of charge and felt they should be VIP's despite not 'earning' their status.

It makes me wonder why people who have never frequented an establishment believe they are as 'important' as people who spend money there week after week. Try replacing the word 'important' with 'profitable', then it makes more sense.

One area where I disagree with the elitism is the subject of 'celebrities' and their hangers-on. There is a huge number of Bangkok 'liggers' who travel from party to party, mooching free stuff because they are famous or worse, know someone famous.

Well said, Bob! NVIP= Not Important Person but PP= Profitable Person , let's cash in. No allowance for personnel friends, staff, family members and celebrities hanging on your free drinks and misbehaving because of their plastic card award! My advise, let a decent qualified manager figure out who his PP's are ! If he can't, fire him!

I just hate being waited on hand a foot the whole VIP thing kinda makes me want to vomit.

I am happy with my little corner bar or the fridge if it is just me doing any thing.

Given yea if you did contribute a lot towards a company, bar, etc. yea then it is good for that person.

But If I contribute a lot to something all I expect is a nice thank you.

Little pleasures are the best. Its all I want out of life.

Would you judge me if Bed Supper Club is one of my most favourite clubs in BKK and that I like going to there every week, regardless of having a VIP card or not; although 2 of my friends have those "VIP" cards. It's not really that special except that they never have to pay the entrance fee, thats all. I was talking to P'Neung or maybe some staff last week, they told me they're not giving this VIP card anymore. Now I kinda understand maybe they're thinking of selling a new card hmmmm

I got this response from Bed when asking about their card:

"Dear Mr. XXX,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Bed World Member card is the exclusive membership program that would only giving out to the guests who has been showing their loyalty over years.

The nomination must come from our staff themselves only when they think the guest is coming to bed regularly for the certain point to become the loyalty guest.

As soon as the staff would like to nominate you, we will let you know.

Best Regards,

Tarinee Srinak (Cherry)

Guest Relations Manager

Bed Supperclub"

I'll have a talk with "the staff" when I get back to BKK...

I think it's probable that some of the negativity towards VIP's comes from jealousy.

I know people like to say, "I don't wanna sit in the VIP area." or "All VIPs are boring." but that's not true.

There are equal numbers of assholes in the VIP and standard areas.

Is it nice to be in VIP? Yes - I don't wait so long for drinks. Staff remember my name. I get a seat. I get discounts, free entry and better service. Oh and it's usually true there are prettier girls in VIP sections... please don't say, "They're all gold-diggers." because that's not true either - usually they have their own money.

Does it work for the club? I think it does. I go to clubs that treat me like a guest over clubs that treat me like a customer. I also tip better and spend more.

Having said that I think that Bed is ridiculously over-priced for entry and drinks... although I'm obviously wrong because they're packed every night!

The best value for Bed Supperclub is to go around 9pm and have dinner - 3 courses of amazing food for 1400 baht, and then free entry into the club (saving 800 baht).

(Sorry SweetieBabie, but it looked like the discussion was dying off - and no-one picked on my 'celebrity-liggers'.
