my argument has always been: since the world marriage is a christian associated thing... call it something else and have the same damn rights. lets say, "egairram".

Then conservative Christians can have their marriage (and divorce) and everyone can be happy also.

I don't want to get married, but if i find the right person, an egairram would be neat, know what i mean?

The right of gay couples to adopt is now protected by law in 20 U.S. states, something that would have been unimaginable twenty or thirty years ago. So "someday" might not be as far away as you think!
