Happiness

Not much going on today but it's been quite a great day at home. I woke up super late and saw my aunts and grandmother gathered around dining table for lunch. Went to take a shower and then straight to the table, cleaning up all the left over! The house was just done renovated not too long ago. Unfortunately, we had shitty builders so a lot of stuff were not right. Because of their shitty job, we don't even bother asking them to correct all the defects we found. As a matter of fact, there's no single thing that we can actually say that they have done right!!!Anyway, they made a BIG mess in the kitchen that we had to clean up. 4 of us, 3 of my aunts and I, spent the whole afternoon, literally the whole afternoon from around 1:30 pm to close to 7 pm, cleaning just the kitchen. There were stains from the cement, paints and dark stains that we couldn't figure out what they were, all over the place. They are difficult to get rid of, and too many spots that we had to clean up. It was hot and quite physically tiring, but it was also really good. We had time to talk and discuss stuffs from how shitty the builder was, where we should go have a meal on my birthday to politics. I don't have a lot of time to spend with my family. I go to work early in the morning and come back late at night. In the evening I just wanna rest and speak to my bf on the phone, and do my personal stuff. Weekend comes it's time to hang out with friends, doing personal shopping or sleeping in. But it is a Saturday like this, which makes me feel happy. The kind of happiness that makes me feel good for many hours afterward. Shopping might make me feel good for a short time, but once I get home, I'm not happy anymore. But this is different. It is difficult to explain in words, but it feels so good, I wish I could capture it in a different form that I can always look back and feel this again whenever I want to.  Sometimes it's just amazing to realize how simple happiness can be. I often chase after happiness, but most of the time it doesn't last. Every now and then, I find a reminder like today that happiness is just within my reach, but I always look pass it. If you ask me what makes me happy, I'd say my family. What about you? What makes you happy?

Lovely journal, Shanon. It makes me happy. :)

My hub and I have plan to watch all old Oscar winner movies together from 9 pm every evening (it's a few minutes from now) Tonight we are watching Fargo. That's happiness. ;D

Sitting on the river banch and just staring at water...being drunk like pig on some noisy concert...meditate in early morning, after doing yoga asanas...travel in faraway destination...thousands of thing can make me happy, because life is just only one, and time runs so fast...so...enjoy every moment:)))

What makes me happy?

Sitting in a still and peaceful place, away from noise, people and buildings, listening to some freshly chilled ambient or dubstep/DNB mix...with a beer.

....aaaahhhh....Bisto! :-)

P'Nicky -- Quiet quality time with your love one is the best! During my time in the UK, I found that the happiest moment that I shared with my bf was to just sit at home and watch TV together. It's the expensive restaurant or an extravagant trip that bring in the real happiness. Enjoy the evening ka! ^_^

Travelraven -- I understand what you talk about and I do enjoy most of the things along the way. It is just the different kind of happiness that I feel when I am with my family or my bf, comparing to the happiness I feel from traveling, shopping or reading. This type of happiness I talk about in the journal last much longer and makes me feel much better than the other one.

Iain_D -- It's that real....I feel sorry for u, really.

Teddy -- Quiet time with urself sounds good! I wish I am less of a social creature sometimes. Where can u find a place away from noise, people and building though??? O_O
