Thailand Friends is Twitterific
For those of you who use and love Twitter we're testing out a new feature where you can get Journal and Event updates on Twitter. I'm not ready to say it's completely foolproof at the moment but I've been testing it personally for the last several days and it seems to work pretty well. I haven't noticed any major glitches so I thought I would open it up to the TF membership and see how it goes. That being said, due to the limitation that Twitter emposes of 140 characters, if the URL to the Journal/Event plus the title of the Journal/Event is more than 140 characters in length it won't appear. That's maybe less than 1% of the time so hopefully you can fire up Twitter on your computer, smartphone, or whatever and get TF updates in realtime. The other frustrating thing is that Thai script isn't dealt very well with and gets all mangled. I've noticed that in the RSS feeds as well and I'm looking into why. I'm also thinking about creating a Twitter profile specifically just for events but I'm not sure if it's necessary at the moment so . . . we'll see how people use it and whether or not there's a need for it before doing that. Whew, I guess I should give you the URL to follow:http://twitter.com/thailandfriendsIf you have no idea what Twitter is (shame on you) you can read more about Twitter and how you can become a Tweeple here. https://twitter.com/about
