Welcome to the first monthly TF Newsletter!  Each month we will try to give a summary of what's been happening on TF and tell you about upcoming TF events.  

If you're wondering why you're receiving this you either signed up for our newsletter on the Thailand Friends website (or on our Facebook page) or we've included you based on your settings in your TF profile.  Don't worry though, if you would prefer not to receive future TF Newsletters you can unsubscribe by following the instructions at the end of this email. 

1 Year Free Premium Membership!

Yes, you're reading that right.  During the month of September if you make a Journal entry or a post in the Forums we'll make you a premium member for 1 year!  

How to qualify:  Make your journal or forum post and then go to this forum thread and tell us where to find it.  That's it.  Pretty simple.  And that applies to new members as well so if you have friends you would like to invite to join TF tell them to hurry so they can get their free premium membership too.  

Bad news:  Sorry fella's but the free premium membership is only available for the ladies.  

Wibiya Tool Bar

In our neverending quest to bring TF members better ways to get to know each other we've recently been expermenting with a new feature from Wibiya that allows users to chat, share links, translate between Thai and English, and find information on TF easier.  Come check it out!

The events calendar has plenty of activities for everyone.  All you have to do is go to the TF site and click on the RSVP button next to any of the events.

September Events

Soi 22 Pub Crawl

Start out the month with the infamous Soi 22 Pub Crawl in Queen's Park Plaza.  It's held the first Sunday of every month and normally includes visiting 4 or 5 of the pubs in the plaza and playing games for free drinks at each pub.  Festivities kick off at 6 pm'ish (not real strict about the time) and you can opt in or opt out of the events whenever you like.  Everybody meets up at The Hideaway Bar owned by TF member Jack and the lineup for the evening is announced there.  To sign up go to the Events page and let Jack know you're coming.  [More info]

Bigkus and bCool Birthday Party

Bigkus and bCool are celebrating their birthdays at Charlie Brown's Sept 11 at 6pm.  Moderator Nicky (Pandorea) wants everyone to wear pink for the event and she will be taking donations for SCAD (Soi Cats and Dogs of Bangkok) a worthwhile charity that tries to place stray dogs and cats with people who will care for them.  So help BigKus and bCool celebrate getting another year better and wear your pink with pride.  [More info]

The Rob (JapAmerican) and Bill (Admin) Birthday Bash

Here's another fun event for TF members.  Rob and I both have September birthdays so we've teamed up to put on a heck of a party on Sept 18.  The evening with start off at Larry's Dive on Soi 11 around 8pm.  As our birthday gift from us to TF we've paid for a keg of beer and some wine which will flow until we run out.  Larry's Dive has been gracious enough to throw in some munchies too so free beer, wine, and food for as long as it lasts.  Rob will entertain with his cello during the festivities.   The youngest TF member Jasmine (Rob's new daughter) will also be there for everyone who has been waiting to meet her.  

Around 10pm we'll head over to Narz for some real partying.  [More info]

Photography Day at The Grand Palace and Wat Pho

If you love to take photographs join me on Sunday Sept 26th when we'll visit the Grand Palace and Wat Pho for an afternoon of photography.  If you're interested sign up and meet me in front of the Grand Palace at 11am.  [More info]

@funky_house: We did do something with photo captions but EB kept winning every week. And no, the servers couldn't handle free beers for posts :-)
