Little Feet 19 - Baby's First Christmas

The flight from Bangkok to Boston was long, but not too bad. It lasted a good 24 hours, and Jasmine cried during 2 takeoffs out of 3 and 0 landings out of 3...not too shabby. For the most part, she ate and slept. 3 hours into the first flight I was burping her, and she threw up an entire bottle onto my shirt, which subsequently dripped down to my pants and onto my socks. Nice start.

I changed shirts and saw that Jeab had packed one extra t-shirt on top of the polo that I had packed. We landed in Tokyo, boarded our next flight, then 3 hours into that flight, Jasmine puked up a half bottle onto that t-shirt. Thanks to Jeab for packing that extra shirt. Here's a pic of us right before the second flight...

From Japan to Minnesota, it's about an 11 hour flight...the longest one we had. By the end of the flight, you start to go slightly insane...it's really the only way to get through the flight, though (for me at least). It's the worst knowing that after this second flight, you have to go through immigration, get your bags, go through US airport screening (all with a baby), and THEN get on your final flight.

Right after we got off the plane in Minnesota, I snapped this quick pic of Jasmine only to get jumped on by "Homeland Security" telling me that photos weren't allowed. I think they are onto Jasmine's need for Jihad.

So we made it into Boston's Logan Airport in the early evening. We touched down during a snow storm right before they began delaying flights. My sister picked us up, and took us to my Mother's house where we unpacked clothes and wrapped up our Christmas presents.

My brother had luckily got into Boston from London without any delays as well. Heathrow has had some huge delays because they still can't deal with a few inches of snow...

We got to bed by 9 pm, and slept pretty well through the night.

The last couple of days have been 100% family parties. My family is a dynamic mix of mostly Irish, Japanese, Italian, and Korean blood. This makes for some really cute (and astonishingly well-behaved/polite) kids, great food and drink. Here are few Christmas party pics:

The last two pics have my sister with Jasmine and then my sister's husband with their 2nd son, Kai (first one is Ethan). Her husband is Korean/American and obviously my sister is a Japamerican. Their two boys are going to be heart breakers.

And today is Christmas Day. We just finished the first gathering at my Mom's house where the kids got all their toys from Santa. This evening we're headed to a big family party just outside of Boston. Here are some pics from earlier this morning:

The food has been great...really really great. But I'm constantly full, even when I wake up, so I'm already packing on the pounds. Just look at the size of me this morning...

Tongue out

lol. Merry Christmas to all TF'ers. I'm trying to document as much of Jazz's first Christmas and New Year as possible. It's been simply awesome so far...

Thanks all...it's nice having her back here, though she is very confused.

And there will be no stealing my dog or my Honda. Yoma is there taking care of some people (cleaning up their poo and making sure the humans have enough water).

thanks for sharing nice family event !

I think we should collect thousands of signatures to ask for staying in controlled zones when you get connecting fligths. This is really wasting time to pass again stupid double controls...

This also happens to me when i did fly to BKK from Brussels, threwn London Heathrow transit..

This is really the worst airport in the world: always delays and longtime connections between terminals...

I nearly miss the second flight because 1 st plane was delayed and the control queue was too long...

Thanks to the employee who did allow me to use the fast VIP lane.

Great journal ! Thanks again for sharing.
