ABORTION

stop Pushing Me to ABORTION... ( This is from http://www.teenbreaks.com )

Let Get some facts straight one at a time!!!

1. No matter what your age... this is your body, your baby, your life, and your choice. NO ONE can force a minor to have an abortion. That's against the law and would be child abuse! And no doctor can perform an abortion on you without your signature. No one can sign for you.

2. First of all, in the US parents are legally and financially responsible for their children under the age of 18. Consequently, parents can't just randomly kick their minor children out of their home. Depending upon the state, they would be charged with child neglect or endangerment and the State Department of Child Services would be all over them.

Parents often want to get rid of their daughter's pregnancy because they'd be embarrassed for everyone to find out... "what would the neighbors say." Well, what would the neighbors say if they put their pregnant daughter out on the street and were charged with child endangerment!

If you are over 18 there are other places you can go for housing and care throughout your pregnancy. You can call Care Net at 1-800-395-HELP for information in your area.

3. The age of consent for having sex varies in each state, but generally unless you are a very young minor and your boyfriend is a much older man, your father may be making angry statements which are not based on law. Oftentimes people assume, for example, that an 18-year-old boyfriend having sex with his 15-year-old girlfriend can be charged with statutory rape. Not necessarily so. Getting help from Care Net at 1-800-395-HELP can also answer questions like this about the laws in your own state.

4. You CAN finish school while being a teen parent. That's why school systems have teen parenting programs. They want you to finish school. You and your baby will be better off in the future if you do finish school. School programs even provide parenting classes and daycare as part of their curriculum. As you will see from the parenting stories in the Pregnancy section, many girls feel much more determined to finish school and go to college because they want a good future for their baby.

5. This pregnancy is not about him, even though he's the father. It's about you and your baby. A little baby has never ruined any father's life; and if he makes you choose between him and your child, he's not worth choosing, as he doesn't care about either one of you...

AND

All you have to do is read the abortion stories to see that almost all guys left after the abortion anyway.

After you get over the shock of finding out you're pregnant, the next step is naturally to go to your boyfriend and then your parents to give them the news. Generally you are expecting support from your boyfriend and disappointment/anger from your parents. However, it can be a huge shock if they react so angrily that they start pushing you into an abortion to solve everyone's problems.

However, this has been a shock for them too, and they just want you to be "unpregnant." That's why you need some help from a rational, experienced, non-family source. Care Net has helped thousands of pregnant girls with all kinds of things like dealing with your parents/boyfriend/family/friends, prenatal care, parenting classes, staying in school, daycare, material things, local assistance, looking at your options, housing, planning for the future, etc. So it doesn't matter how young you are or how old you are, they will be there for you in dealing with your pregnancy, your baby, and your future.

Once your family is well informed and has a chance to think everything through, it is highly likely that they will come around. This is, after all, their grandchild.

When you're young, it's hard to stand up to the adults in your life, but it's much easier with other adults standing with you... BESIDES, this is your life, your baby's life, and your future.

I read only the topic and i don't need to real all.I have my own answer. You made one life born,You must to responsible them no excuse. No matter what the reason are. This is the biggest sin for peoples who want to do abortion. In Buddhist we believed that when you kill one life by abortion ,they will follow you till the last of your breathe.I am talking about my religious only. And apart of that you will never do any thing success in the rest of your life. There are so many peoples at this moment go to the temples because they fell sorry with what they did and they want to change it,It's too late? I can not tell.

@ SO - I am a huge supporter of a woman's right to choose in these cases and I respect your views on abortion totally...but is that the same where the woman/girl has got pregnant from rape of sexual abuse?

In these cases i think In every countries the government in each countries must have some foundation ,organization or some Government department to take care of the girls or the babies.Like Thailand we have many organization take care of the girls whom pregnant from rape of sexual abuse.Which was can solved some problem but not all.But the rest of that if they didn't came over there or The foundations didn't found them,so they could not help.If they wanted to do it's they choices and it's illegal anyway in Thailand. Some doctor have been caught many times they did help yes of course they get easy and more money. In Thailand many dead from abortion at illegal clinics.

No matter you pregnant by mistake or by rape,If they decide to abortion ,It's very sin for the Buddhist,We lucky we didn't have these problem much,Rarely once i heart from the news. When it's come to the media. You know Thai peoples they will always support poor peoples, girls boys who has been abuse not only by rape such as father mother abuse or torture them ,or the babies which the mother left them on the street. We will always supports. If they has no choice just birth them and go get some helps from the foundations which we have.

I can not advise for the girls live in another countries, perhaps it's the same advise like i mention above,I think not much people care in this case about the Sin if they are not Buddhist. But we Buddhist really truly care.In your religion Is it sin about abortion?

My 'religion' has no real creed on abortion though it does recognise the force of life in all living things. However, from a personal view, carrying a child to full term when you have been the victim of rape or incestuous abuse can often have devastating and irreversible psychological impact on the woman. I suppose it can come down to the old argument around at what stage does a foetus become 'a person'; and there are differing views on this. But I strongly believe that in those cases, the laws and religions of that woman's country should allow her to choose abortion.

But religion aside, I still believe that it should always be a woman's right to choose what to do. I do not think the man has a right to force or persuade the woman to abort the child in any circumstances.

But back at source, it is both parties' responsibilities to take precautions to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. There are too many unwanted births AND abortions happening every day, purely down to poor sex education, irresponsibility and the outdated and archaic teachings of the Catholic church on contraception.
