Admin_2 13 Posted July 12, 2011 Report Share I find it amazing that Thais can make some of the funniest commercials in the world, yet their TV and movies usually suck. Link to comment

Admin_2 13 Posted July 12, 2011 Report Share @ WL: Some Hollywood movies are absolute crap, and some Thai movies are really good...but you're missing the point. Most Thai movies suck goat balls, yet Thais can come out with these brilliant commercials. I think it has to do with the attention span of Thais. It's high quality for the short term, but loses it's power in the long term. Thais like things fast and entertaining...quickly. A magazine rules over a book. Debate if you want, but don't get angry please. Also, a lot of movies and songs that Thais "make" are actually stolen from other countries, but I think the average Thai doesn't know and doesn't care who first made it. For example, many MK songs (gin arai, gin arai, gin arai pai gin MK) are stolen, most Thai pop songs originally come from Korea/Japan or the west, Shutter was not an original idea, but the Thai directors did a fabulous job with the movie...and so on. I don't know the other two movies you are talking about, but Thais do a great job with Thai history/action movies. Those are usually very original in a Thai sense and they are awesome. Again, not looking for you to get angry. Just take what I've said, dissect it, and tell me your thoughts on where I'm wrong and right. Link to comment
whitelotus 0 Posted July 12, 2011 Report Share @ rob lol , i think i always get angry for the only one (u know who- the lord lol), for your point of view, i accept especially when u said that " Thais do a great job with Thai history/action movies" and we r talented in copy the idea and redo it with the better version lol. Moreover, i think for historical movie HK and thai are the good producer and well production comparing to the Hollywood historical movie right? PS i have never angry u and always love to discuss with u, p'iain ja Link to comment

However, it's weird to compare Hollywood with the world because it really is the world. So many actors and directors in Hollywood are from other countries, it's basically a tossed salad/dirty sanchez/muddy brunch of different people. I love it! As far as redoing it better than the original version, I have to disagree. It makes me want to throw up listening to Thai radio songs and commercials hearing them destroying old songs from my childhood. I have to shut it off sometimes. Link to comment

Thais and Chinese are the kings of copiers...but to say that they are the best at copying is like saying they are the best in the special olympics! no offense or anything...but being creative is...duh, winning!
