sweetie0987 1 Posted July 31, 2012 Report Share no no .. use fingers to play it .. do you see the 7 small irons .? it has different tones .. ^^ Link to comment
Jos_38 0 Posted July 31, 2012 Report Share It looks like a traditional metal harp, of the kind in a musicbox, but much bigger, I would think You need sticks to hammer on this one... The plate under seem to hold a resonance chamber ? As it has only 7 tones, I would therefore call it a bass instrument... But a possible name would include harp so for my guess "bass metal harp" or "bass bell harp"... Both names are very surely wrong but I think descriptive... Link to comment
sweetie0987 1 Posted July 31, 2012 Report Share Do you wind it up? I also have record the sound of this instrument .. but i don't know how to post it here .. any suggestion? Link to comment

Stramash 11 Posted July 31, 2012 Report Share It doesn't seem to appear in lists of traditional Malysian instruments so I am guessing it is something of a hybrid - with the decoration from the local area and the actual workings looking like an adaptation of the mechanism inside a music box. What size is it? Link to comment

Stramash 11 Posted July 31, 2012 Report Share The size is like a coconut shell .. I think it would be played with the fingers then. But a mystery! Link to comment
