Little Feet 34 - Aiden Amarin Kawada
It's been a long few days, I'm exhausted, but I feel like the happiest man alive. My son, Aiden Amarin Kawada, was born on July 30th weighing 3.1 kilos. He is happy and healthy, and Jeab is doing well too.
He came 3 weeks early, which was a bit worrisome. However, he was at a good weight, healthy, and didn't need any support besides the usual love and care (of which he is getting plenty). Jasmine also arrived early.
Jasmine has been great throughout this all. All four of us have been staying in the same room since Monday, which would usually be difficult for a two year old (especially with a new baby brother taking most of the attention). She tries to hold him, kisses him, and calls him her "baby brother nice." In a show of jealousy, she's been pretending to have foot pains as well as asking us to clean her feet every few hours. Not too bad.
At this point, we are just excited to bring Aiden home. He was born at the hospital where my father has been delivering babies for over 15 years, so it feels like we are getting a little extra care and attention. It's been a great experience here. Jeab feels that the care here has been even better than what we received in Bangkok even though that was hard to beat.
Here is the view we have had for the past few days from the maternity center...To the left of the Charles River you can see Boston University's Coliseum style sports arena and Harvard University's rowing team getting ready to train:
And here are a few more pictures from today...Tomorrow, we head home with our new bundle of joy.
