Going to start trudging around the travel agents soon to get the cheapest airfare from Bangkok to Frankfurt. Anyone got any advice on the best place to go and what I can expect to pay?

For a direct flight to frankfurt you'll be looking about 32000 baht. As Estella said emirates is about 28000 but that will probably have a 6 hour stopover somewhere in Arab land.

Go to chit lom you'll see the gulf air just below u leaving the skytrain station.

Should be 13,000 to 15,000 depends on how long it is till you fly.

Stop over at Bahrain or Abu Dhabi most likely.
