Robbo on Peter Ebdon's tactics against Ronnie O'Sullivan - plus Chelsea-Liverpool
By Derek 'Robbo' Robson , The Tees mouth
Hello Robbo.
Hello son, you all right?
Yes, I'm a bit tired after watching that Peter Ebdon - Ronnie O'Sullivan match though!
I know - I had two pints in between shots when Ebdon was playing.
God knows how many Bill Werbeniuk would have put away then!
Ronnie's dangerous game
I tell you, Ebdon must have the smallest bladder in snooker - he left the auditorium and didn't come back for hours.
It's a bit like Paula Radcliffe - go before you leave the house!
You've got to feel sorry for Ronnie, though - five minutes for his opponent to make a 12 break?!
I don't blame him for giving up. It's like shopping with the missus - you sit there for hours thinking I've got better things to do than wait for somebody to make up their mind.
But the tournament is wide open now.
And a lot duller because of Ronnie's exit. I'm not really interested in watching any of the four that are left.
And it could be a Ronnie-free year next year, which will be a shame. Never mind, he'll be back.
Perhaps that gives Jimmy the chance to win it next year!
You never know - stranger things have happened. Ha ha!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, on to the Champions League - what did you make of the Chelsea-Liverpool semi-final?
Well I think it had nil-nil written all over it from the moment Lampard skied his shot over the bar.
It wasn't a very good advert for English football, though. The semi-finals of the Champions League are getting duller and duller. At least we're guaranteed a result at Anfield.
I must admit, when Liverpool were making a fuss about getting this Champions League place to defend their trophy, I was thinking who do they think they are, assuming they're going to beat Chelsea and AC Milan - what a ridiculous hypothetical question.
But now you look at it and you think, God in heaven, they might just do it. Tell me, Christopher - are they going to win the whole thing?
Well it's a four-horse race and I think they've got as good a chance as anyone. Anyway, I don't want Chelsea winning it.
Well I don't want Liverpool winning it either.
And l definitely don't want AC Milan to win it.
No. Come on PSV! Let's get behind the Dutch!
Well I'd better go for Liverpool, Robbo, because that's who my girlfriend supports and I'll be failing in my duty otherwise.
Fair enough.
And it would certainly shut Mourinho up.
For a while, yes - that would certainly be a bonus.
Is Jose going down?
