Wow, I just finished submitting my resume to a professional writing service. I am excited, nervous, and even slightly indifferent! Weird huh? The last time I updated my resume was in 1996 when I went to work for a large software company in Washington. I stayed there for 6 years. Over the last three years I was a small business owner. That business failed :( .

I hope to get a really good looking resume that I can submit. Things have changed so much in the last 9 years for job hunters in the US. Some of it is cool! I like the new tools that allow employers to look for you! That is a big change from submitting your resume to a bunch of different people and hoping for a call.

I am excited because of the possibilities, nervous because it has been 9 years from the last time I looked for a job, and indifferent because I guess I don?t ~really~ care how it goes! It is good I guess that I don?t HAVE to worry.

I'm sorry I may not understand. You submitted your resume to a Professional Writing Service meaning that service will take your basic resume and convert it to a "professional" format with the information and format they believe is best??

I have always written and used my own resume as is, and I have not had to write it since 1998. I am not sure about the software market right now and I do not know your specialization. I am down in Silicon Valley working in Hardware, IC Design. There is some demand, but not like it used to be.

Anyway, best of luck, I hope you find what you are looking for.

No, I submitted the information that should be in a resume to a writing service because I couldn't be bothered to update my 9 year old resume. I figured a fresh start would be a good thing.

Given the additional fact that I paid for the service 8 months ago (I don?t procrastinate at all do I?) and it took me this long to compile the information, I figured it would be a GOOD thing time wise if someone ELSE did the work of putting it together or I?d STILL be putting it off!
