Is it Karma or a hint?
This is a longish entry that doesn?t go anyplace in particular.
Sometimes I wonder why I get to be the whipping boy for the world. I really try to look at the positive side of things and not feel put upon, but sometimes?
Then I see all the suffering going on in places like southern Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indian, and even in places like Iraq and Pakistan and I am relieved that I have enough to eat (too much if you ask my doctor), have a roof over my head and I can complain about how bad my life is with out worrying about my government putting me in jail. Weird isn?t it. I still feel lucky when I REALLY think about my lot in life!
Sense I have moved to Florida:
My mom died,
I had to live in Hotels for 4 months while my condo waited for closing,
One of my Cats died,
I got two traffic violations in under a month,
My business failed,
My Car Was Stolen,
My dry cleaner lost ALL of my dress clothes,
My laptop crashed last night!
OK, that is over the span of two years and I have left out a lot of details and many other trivial ?bad things?. But it really makes me wonder about living in this area of the country.
Some of the good things?
Two hurricanes last year didn?t directly affect me,
I was able to get both traffic tickets off my record,
I get tons more exercise now that I don?t have a car,
I actually save at least $300 a month without a car,
I learned that I suck at starting a business ,
My condo has held its value well!
Most people aren?t ~true~ friends (knew that one already!)
Why am I writing this on a Thai related site? One of the things that have kept me going over the last couple of years is my memories of Thailand! The grass is always greener!
I am waiting on a settlement from the insurance company for my car and then I am coming back to Thailand. I doubt it will be the panacea to all of my Karma issues, but I am sure that I will be able to relax and enjoy the awesome food and the good people again! Who knows, may be even meet the right person to help turn all the negative energy in my life to something much more positive!
