Return to flight!

As I write this the Space Shuttle Discovery is set to launch in approximately 17 hours. When I moved to Florida in January of 2003 I had planned on seeing STS-114 launch in March of that year! However, when the Columbia broke up on reentry and the shuttle fleet was grounded, my plans were put on hold.

So today I rented a car (see my earlier journal entries as to why I had to rent a car) so I can drive up to the Kennedy Space Center tomorrow and see the launch first hand!

I am really excited about this. I was only 11 when the Columbia was first launched and only 16 when the Challenger was destroyed.

With all of the ?bad things? that are going on in the world it is exciting to see the launches resume.
