S123arpedon
Arse draw with Man U. I have posted my reaction on the other temporary sports forum. Looking forward to FA Cup semi final between these 2 next weekend. Bolton beat Newcastle with a freak goal...Good news fo liverpool for he 4th sopt but they can only draw with relegation candidates Leicester!! Spurs get beaten with a overhead kick wondergoal from Rory Delap. I hope they get Raneiri as their manager next season. SVE signed an extension to his contract to manage England, Who will be Chelsea manager now?...Cappello? O'Neill?
Indman
Damn that's got my vote for goal of the year as well! Freak Henry goal but we've come to expect that.
S123arpedon
i think contender for goal of the season has to be Hamanns volley from owens cross. Cant remember what game it was now. That was a rocket and I am surprised that it did not rip the net!!
Ezzzer
So which Premiership team do each of you support then? I hope none of you is one of those amateur supporters who change their teams every year depending on their performances. I know one mate who claims to support Liverpool but he does not even know their home pitch is Anfield, ridiculous or what? I am proud to tell you guys that I am a true and loyal supporter of Coventry City Football Club (which is now playing in Division 1) since 1987! Ezzzer
I know this question will come sometime sooner or later. Actually, I was still in Hong Kong at that time cos' I only went to England towards mid-1988. They showed the FA Cup final on television every year and that was the year when Coventry beat Spurs (sorry mate!) in the final 3:2. Coventry was the underdogs but everyone was playing with passion and really playing for each other and I knew that was the team I would support for the rest of my life! What about you then? I remember the 87 final so clearly...deflection off Mabbutts knee...but i remember the 91 semi fianl even better!!

Steel
I have been Liverpool fan since I was 9 ore something, but I would not call me a hooligan.. anymore.. But I tend to see whats going on, and love that Riise is playing on Anfield.. For me it depend a little what kind of game they are playing, like many I hate Man. U. but when they play Campions League and Solskjaer is on, I find my self cheer for him, and them.. Its like in our home leauge, everybody hate Rosenborg, since they have won the leauge for like 10 years in a row.. But when they play in Champions Leauge, of cours I am a fan.. I am Norwegian! :-) You guys better watch out for Noway in the coming World Cup.. We have something going here.. 5-6 wins in a row! :-)

s1lv3rtwenty2
that's right. the list went on and on... Chinaglia, Cruyff, Beckenbauer... for some reason, i was also a fan of the New England Tea Men before they moved to Jacksonville. i checked out the BBC site for the English Premiership league and i think i'll be a Birmingham City supporter. does anybody want to tell me about them? are they any good? why Birmingham? we have a Birmingham here in the US, in Alabama. i was once driving 95 in a 55 mile per hour zone and a Birmingham (Alabama) police officer pulled me over. he luckily knocked the citation down to only 10 miles over and i didn't have to come back and appear in court. thus i am appreciative and will support Birmingham. John
Been supporting Man United, ever since my uncle took me to Old Trafford (their home ground, for those that don't know).. to watch a league game back in 1992!, Although my father encouraged me to support his team, Crystal Palace.. (they were pretty good back then).. but i wasn't impressed lol. s1lv3rtwenty, Birmingham were promoted to the Premier league from Division 1 last year.. they've done pretty well and they're 6th on the league table so far! -John- [Edited on 29/3/2004 by John]
s1lv3rtwenty2
thanks John. yeah! we're number 6, we're number 6! i see that we beat Leeds, but then i noticed that Leeds is 19th so i'm not sure that is much of an accomplishment. it appears that some awful miss by a guy name Viduka is what turned the tide for Birmingham. GO BRMINGHAM!!! do we have a team name? i hope it is a really tough name like the Birmingham Crushers or the Maulers or something like that. Ezzzer
Iain I play rugby as well but that does not mean you can't also enjoy a bit of footie right? However, I only play for my firm nowadays. I used to play in the league in Hong Kong as well and I do miss those days running past everyone. I started as a winger and I changed to full back after 4 years of play. What about you? Anyway, I will start a new thread on rugby just for the rugger buggers!

S123arpedon
Viduka back hime is affectionaly known as FAW (Fat Aussie Wanker) sorry to any Aussies out there..Indman!! hehe. Forrsell is doing really well for Birmingham...I rated his when he was at Chelsea and i think he can become a great player as he is still young. Solskjaer is another favourite player of mine too. His first touch is fantastic as is Robbie Keanes. I head Iversen will go back to Rosenborg soon. He had some much potential when he joined spurs years agon but too many injuries and questions about his fitness and diet have prevented him from becoming the player he was touted to be...(he admits to tucking into more pizzas than he should)... S123arpedon
Does anyone know anything about some us soccer player called Bobby Convey? I am not sure who he plays for...it might be the Metrostars?? he was almost signed up by Spurs but the labour department or whoever it is wouldnt give him a work permit... The reason was the they didnt think he was good enough to make an impact on the premiership. What a crock of ****!! Wasnt he in the squad that got to the quarterfinals of the World Cup?! I think spurs are still keen in signing him and I hoe they are successful this time as i heard he was quality...might need to bulk up a bit though...he looks kinda skinny.
