Apparently Real have faxeed the buyout clause prices of all their players to Chelsea!! O'Neil looks like staying at Celtic now with the continued interest in Rivaldo. Who will come to manage Spurs? Trapp/Huges combo or a Trapp/Peter taylor Combo? Ranieri...if ranieri comes tehn all the bullshit about managers wanting the job are true!! Thaksin on the verge of buying a 30% stake in Liverpool..does that mean Somtam and half time?? or possibly a Liverpool sponsored academy here in Thailand?? Smith would be a good singing for any team...he is a good player if he can keep his temper under control. I agree with Totti to Real Madrid and Ronaldo and Beckham to Chelsea. Ziege, Poyet and Anderton have been released from Spurs...That should free up about 6 mil in wages for new signings. trappatoni has officially ruled himself out of the managers job. Where Houllier will go remains to be seen...he was being talked about for the job of FA technical director when Howard Wilkinson was got rid of...He could well just move upstairs at LIverpool but I dont think that he will. Who will go to Liverpool now? Curbishley, O'Neill, not sure if he will want to go after suing a newspaper for saying that he had already agreed to join LIverpool...do they even want him?? Mourinho? Looks like Roberto Carlso will be going to Chelsea this summer for 20 million..and he is getting on a bit now isnt he? He must be 30 or somthing like that. Heskey to Birmingham for 3.5 mil...How Houllier could pay 11 million for him is crazy! Even the most hardcore Leicester fans have gotta be happy with that piece of business! They've got arguably the best left back in the premiership already in Wayne Bridge and where are they going to play him? On the left flank? Then where's Damien Duff and Arjen robben going to play? Well Duff is gone as far as I'm guessing. Look for them to try to bring in Christian Vieri as well this summer. What is it about Chelsea and ageing stars in their decline? They should be trying to get Rooney away from everton or for that price take a shot at Ronaldinho! Goodness knows this season showed Mutu and Crespo to be busts! Their best striker is Hasselbaink and that's saying something! Hesky will be good for the Blues since he's a good player but not a great one. He'll eat up some space for Forsell to score more goals anyway. Unfortunately in my opinion that kid Cisse is going to be a Hesky clone in Liverpool so you won't notice any difference! Liverpool needs a wide right player to allow Owen to get into space and to complement Kewell on the other side. S123arpedon Posted May 26, 2004 Author Report Share Posted May 26, 2004 I agree with too many players in the same positions at Chelsea...how many midfielders did they have last season....Jole Cole hardly got a look in till the end of the season and that was without Veron who i think will be sold back to Italy..far more suited to the pace of their league....the only time he looked good for Man U was when he was playing in European games! Roberto Carlos though does provide great runs down the left...porobably the best attacking full back in the world at the moment. real really missed him when he wasnt playing...for an old guy he is still pretty quick too. Where do you think Duff will go to? Man U? to replace Giggs? and it looks like ranieri might stil be there come next season too. I think Mourinho will go to Liverpool since he has stated he would prefer them over Chelsea. The only other managers for Chelsea will be Deschamps or Cappello. This policy of just buying players and then getting rid of them a season later will work against Chelsea...I can see players wanting to go to them..unless they are money grabbing tossers! I think Heskey will find his level at Birmingham....looking good in an average team. Will be interesting to see how his partnership with Forsell will develop tho since i rate the fin quite highly. No comment on Cisse yet since i havent seen him play but i heard that he is even quicker than Henry...that would be something...lets see if he has the skill to match! There will be a few players being shown the door thought as he has said that he likes to work with a squad of 21 including keepers and Chelseas squaad is around 30 at the moment. Looks like Veron, Geremi, Hasselbaink, Gronkjaer and a few others will be looking for new clubs soon! Spurs have talked to Ranieri but it looks like he would prefer to go back to Valencia with Benitez already going to Liverpool...Spurs still managerless and its been more than 8 months...Chelsea and Liverpool get their men withhin a matter of days/weeks!! Its getting embarrasing...at least we wont end up with Peter taylor since he is taking the England under 21's job. So whos could it possibly now? Jol, O;Neill...GLenn Roeder???!! This is just driving me nuts know knowing! At least we have the Euro 2004 Championships coming up...starts on June 12th! Not sure about England doing well since they only managed a draw with Japan and that was with home advantage too! I am still amaazed at how Heskey can be in the squad! Boro have already signed Viduka! and it looks like they will unveil Hasselbaink soon too. that looks like an interesting strike partnership. Chelsea look set to sign Drogba from Marseille for around 22 million!! Crespo looks like he is on his way out but he has come out and says that wants to stay despite missing an arranged player get together. MIlner has gone to Newcastle. for around 5 mil (i think)...good purchase since he is only 18. Barmby has had hi contract paid up and has joined Hull!! (Hull..(WTF!) Postiga look like on his way out which is a shame since he wasnt given a chance last season with Pleat in Charge. We may get another striker or Midfielder from Porto as part of the deal though...Ronaldo has come out and said that he would relish working with Arneson (technical director at Spurs) again and that he has always stated that he wanted to join the premiership....I find this too hard to belive since he is only 27/28, in the prime of his career...playing for one of the biggest teams in the world...is he really gonna come to Spurs....as a Spurs fan of course he woudl but as a normal rational person...never!! Sean davis has also signed for an undisclosed fee but is thought to be around 3 million pounds! I am gutted to see Postiga leave since i thought with the right coaching and opportunities he would have become really great but if he aint happy or settled here then it is better for him to be happy playing his football in Portugal! Davis is a great signing....under 21 England captain so no question about his quality...all in all 2 great additions to a very weak Spurs midfield. With Robbie Keane, Jermaine Defoe, Sean Davis, Ledley King and Paul Robinson iar Spurs there is a good backbone of British players to base the rest of the squad around!! The revolution continues... I think this one could really be the one for spurs now...it seems like a complete overhaul of the staff and not just changing the manager...The upcoming season is really getting me excited...more than previous seasons. Its great to see Pleat gone...I know what you mean about Postiga...It was just that he was a self confessed spurs fan and would have been nice to see him doing it for his fave club! Probably needs to bulk up a bit but Arneson had good things to say about him..maybe he was just being diplomatic though. David has signed for Inter....probably using different club, including Spurs to increase the bidding for him...after all he is available on a free so his wages must be pretty damn good. Ahhh Ronaldo..we can all dream! Villa want to sign Kluivert...I think this would be a bad move. I think he is one of the most, if not the most overrated player in football. I dont ate him at all and it seems like he is the Dutch equivalent of sulky Anelka. Disruptive in the dressing room. Whats your prediction for Villa this season then>? top 6 again? Looks like Jason Koumas wants out of West Brom. I am very surprised that more clubs havent come in for him. I rate him as a player and he is by far the best player at the Hawthorns...There is some talk of Joe Cole being targeted by Spurs. I dont think this is true since ha has stated on several occasions of his hate for Spurs!! But then Scott Parker was photographed with a dign rubbishing Spurs and Chelsea (or something like that) and then he went off to Chelsea) Cole has not fulfilleed his potential...bit unpredictable andto me is a bit of a one trick pony! Decisions on him are split since he has had a couple of rpolific seasons but some say he is not proven in a quality league...(but you could argue that Monaco did reach the Champions league final) Abramovich is just being screwed again...Marseille must be laughing all the way to the bank when this finally goes through. I see Carvalho has had a 20 millions price tag slapped on him too...maybe they got wind of Abramovich sniffing around!! haha! Looks like Spurs and Liverpool are trying to sign Dacourt. He is a good player but just too moody...no one likes a sulking baby! If Santini can get him to play to his ability i would be very happy to see him at the lane this coming season! Of course...no summer is complete without a Vieira to real Madarid Rumour!! Some say he can go for 30 mill others are saying that Wenger will not let him leave, even for 50 mill....ho humm...... Drogba is a top class player, and you will see how he is fast and terribly strong, two qualities that fit very well in Premier league. I think you will be more than surprised by this player! Give me the lodown on Santinin cuz he has just taken over my beloved Spurs...his record fro France was pretty impressive though...it just didint happen foer them during Euro 2004! I am not saying Drogba is a bad player since he scored agasint Liverpool and Newcastle in the UEFA cup but 24 million for a player who has really only had 2 prolific season is in my opinion a bit of a gamble...but with Romans deep pockets 24 mil is like loose change! What do you think of Djbril Cisse then...I heard he is even faster than Henry!! Arneson has pulled off another coup with the signing of Swiss under 19 international Reito Ziegler. Left sided defender but can play in midfield. Higlhy sought after within Europe and one definitely for the future...Good work! Get a loan player in or an older more experienced left sided player (Kily Gonzales)?? while he gets up to speed in the premier league and then come 19 0r 20 he will be ready for first team action! Can be the best striker in the world, as he also has a strong charachter and "fighting spirit", you will like... - Cissé is very good too, faster than Henry but can miss many occaions. Has to improve his head skills (as Henry in fact). Maybe he plays too much for himself, but has a good mind and wants to learn. Henry is better for the moment, but things can be exchanged, as Cissé has a really great potential... - Berson would be a very good recruit... people dont speak a lot of him, because of his position on the field, but you definitively need players like him... - Santini... hum... you will learn to hat him by yourself! Just listen to a press conference, and you will understand. He is really bad at communication, but as a good trainer resume, so maybe... Think Chelsea will be unbeatable this year. I do hope that Man U beat them in the opening game of the season!...and its certainly not often that i will give the 'Dirty Reds' my support!! I havent heard any press conference from Santini but his record is impressive...its not only him though..We have Martin Jol as assistant manager who was tracked my man U to becoming assistant manager on more than 1 occasion. I think that he is being groomed to take over from Santini. Arneson is already having a great influence with bringing in players for the future...amazingly he is managing to sell spurs as an attractive club!! I am hjearing rumours of a bid ofr Malbranque....great player...jsut what spurs need to get the balls into Keane and Defoe...cant see it happening though but wasnt he playing for Lyon under Santini?? you never know... Whatever happened to Micoud (I forget his first name?) Quite a few years ago wasnt he being touted as the new Cantona? Wasnt he playing for Parma? Newcastle have signed Kluivert...totally overrated in my opinion...(watcht his space as he proabbly scores a hat full of goals this season!!) But in football, all can change very fast, right? Micoud is in Breme, the German champion. Quite a big star there, and maybe he will come back to France team (was not because "too much charachter"). I hope it is true..he would be a great addition to the spurs midfield...ideally we still need around 3 or 4 players to get into the top 6. Chelsea beat Celtic 4-2 and from what i hear it was pretty convincing with Kezman grabbing a brace. Whatever you say about him, he is a clinical finisher. Man U get beaten by bayern but only on penalties. Smith looking pretty good too. Vieira is not saying a word about the real madrid runours so this time they may just be true...Arsenal looking at maniche for his replacement at around 10 mil. Will Campbell follow suit...his contract is up net year and i would not at all be surprised if he left on a bsoman for one last big pay day...will it be Juventus or somewhere else?
