Champions League 04/05

The draw has been made for this season Champions league. The draw for the group stage is as follows;

Group A: D Coruna, Liverpool, Monaco, Olympiakos

Group B: Real Madrid, Roma, Bayern Leverkusen, Dinamo Kiev

Group C: Bayern Munich, Juventus, Ajax, Maccabi Tel-Aviv

Group D: Man Utd, Lyon, Sparta Prague, Fenerbahce

Group E: Arsenal, Panathinaikos, PSV, Rosenborg

Group F: Barcelona, AC Milan, Celtic, Shaktar Donestk

Group G: Valencia, Inter Milan, Anderlecht, Werder Bremen

Group H: FC Porto, Chelsea, PSG, CSKA Moscow

Matchday 1 will be played 14/15 September.

Initial thoughts are Arsenal dont have too hard a group, Larssen will go back to his old stomping ground to face Celtic while Mourinho will also go back to Porto! Chelsea's group looks to be interesintg with Poruguese and Russina teams in there...conflict of interest?

Group B looks like the difficult group with good teams there... Group D with Man U looks to be ok. That shouldnt be too much of a test for them. A tricky one for Liverpool though...that also is a difficult group with all good teams. You would have to say the Olympiakos are the weakest team there but they are by no means a bad team...

Real Madrid v Roma looks like a cracking game! Porto v Chelsea too!

Ok I'm going to stick my neck out and predict the teams for the second phase, group winners first and 3rd place teams!

A: Deportivo, Monaco

B: Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen (Group of death!)

C: Juventus, Ajax

D: Man U, Lyon (Damn easiest group if ever I saw one!)

E: Arsenal, PSV

F: AC Milam, Barcelona

G: Valencia, Inter Milan

H: Chelsea, PSG
