Exporting Electronic Items to Thailand,Tax-issues

Dear Friends,

I am interested to start selling electronic items (computer components, mobile phone) to Thailand, from Malaysia, but I want to know if Thailand imposes a tax for electronic tems that come into their kingdom.

If yes, is it very high that the buyer may object?

there are a bazillion import duties and taxes listed in several g'ment sites....you won't likely get a good enough answer here...suggest you dig a little for the info.

Sure it imposes a tax on imports otherwise it would be slaughtered as a free market.

I have been told general excise on drink & tobacoo is 60% so very high.

My assumption (generally there wrong) is that excises on electrical goods are very high and this is based on price v. neighbouring markets.

Best do some research on import structures as you may not get a clear answer here

Average tax on electronics will be around 15-30% :shock:

As u want to sell to the end user (phones, computers..) it will be very hard to compete with the actual prices in Thailand.
