khun_lung
There's a really good and useful FREE software package for looking up English or Thai words. It's extremely helpful but your computer needs to be enabled for Thai fonts, and if you can't read Thai it's pretty useless too. You can download it here: http://lexitron.nectec.or.th
SpeedTriple
Just out of interest, what version did you download? I tried the latest 2.1 and it's not working correctly. When I type in 'drink' for example I get this drink [N] ; ??????????? Syn. beverage; brew; liquor Related. ????????????, ????????????????????. khun_lung
The version that I use doesn't tell me the version number. I remember that there are two downloads...one with Java and one without. Try the Java version if you didn't already. Whatever version I have, it works flawlessly. SpeedTriple
They appear to be the same version, it's just that the Java Runtime Enviironment is included in the file you download. It needs the JRE to run, it does nothing without a JRE running. I'm scratching my head a bit here, cos with the version of JRE they supply, I had the problems I mentioned before, and with the latest version of JRE from Sun it casues a runtime error. Shame because it seems to be an imrprovement on the previous version of the dictionary itself, from what I was able to get working. I'll keep trying. Hi, You may need to go to the "Control Panel", "Date, Time, Language and Regional Options" then choose "Regional and Language Options" click on the "Advanced" Tab and select THAI as the "Language for non-Unicode programs". This may work because I use some Thai programs and had the same problems with them. Cheers, Don
SpeedTriple
Don, Thanks for that, it got me 1 step closer, the licence agreement is now in Thai rather than garbage. The main window of the program still won't show the Thai. It's really odd cos I have lots of little Thai utilities that work fine. In fact the dictionary displays Thai everywhere except the main window. The help screens are all still garbage too, so it is some sort of Font/Language setting problem. It's becoming irriratiting now, lol. Rich

Rich The only other thing I can think of in the same place is the "Language" TAB and ensure that you tick the check-box for "Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai)" Other than that - I don't know! SpeedTriple
Don, I've given up with it now, tried everything and it's still the same. I have tried installing it on 2 separate pc's now and it doesn't work on either. I'll try contacting the distributor, but the site is down at the moment. Thanks for your suggestions. Rich.
