khun_lung
I live at Phaholyothin Soi 4, halfway between the Aree and Sanam Pao BTS stations. At around 9:15pm there were about 30 tanks which came down Phaholyothin Road (I went to my balcony and watched), and I wondered, are they going back to base at Sanam Pao or are they from upcountry and have other instructions? About 10:10pm more tanks came rolling down Phaholyothin Road, but fewer, I'd say about ten tanks. So are they coming back from military exercises, or are we going to wake up tomorrow to the news that there is yet another new government? Who knows? Enjoy another day in paradise! duanja
There is rumour of coup encore coming out. Not sure if it is true. The coup gang wanna coup itself, or there might be some fighting within the military gang. Previously, i don't believe in rumours. But it proves to be true two times: the 19 sept coup, and the new year eve bombs.
sunsnow
Couple of first thoughts: 1) these "returning tanks from exercise" was the way they brought the tanks in last time 2) the officials circulated bomb scares for this weekend and upcoming Songran festival so maybe they are brining heavy artillery to protect the place (PM just barked at CNS for these bomb scares) 3) on the other hand, maybe it is good time to make coup because lots of ppl are out of bkk 4) on the other hand, because this is buddhist holiday, it would be kinda "bad" timining I guess, you know, dissin' the holidays that way Anyway, no coup this weekend, 10 baht on returning from training. (Good night, seems I forgot my laptop recharger at other place, so gonna be offline again this weekend, damn it.)
