It's like a shoe culture.

What's up with that?

You mean, as opposed to a flip-flop culture?

Well, based on personal observation I'd say more Asians wear flip-flops than Westerners... it has something to do with the climate.

But white sneakers? Why?

Not true in the Philippines.

The eternal question: Why? Oh, why?

Not true in the Philippines.

I don't mean in No. of Asian vs. No. of Westerners in specific country, just generally speaking...

Are you/is your boyfriend British? Do you/does he own/used to own a pair of white sneakers?

I've never been to anywhere where I see more men wearing white sneakers in my life until I got to London. It's like a shoe culture.

What's up with that?

So they can see their feet in the dark.......

As you only mentioned the UK I'd say you were pretty specific.

White 'trainers' as we say in the UK come in to fashion every few years as I recall.

I haven't been there for 5 or so years but ' it's like that.... and that's the way it....UHH!!

EXACTLY!!! It's like that and that's the way it is! ...but not quite. The white sneaker coolness was brought by hip hop's Run DMC but a bit earlier than jason nevin's revision.

Just have a peek at songs like "walk this way" which was a collaboration between them and Aerosmith. RUN DMC is the white sneaker master, everything else is plain copying or reinventing the wheel

I was on argument over flip-flops when I said I wasn't being specific.

However, it's bloody obvious that I was specifically aiming at UK when I discussed the white sneakers culture.

My original question to Brit men, or someone who has Brit boyfriend(s) was: 'Do you or your boyfriend(s) own or used to own a pair of white sneakers?'

Just about every Western male on the planet owns or used to own a pair of white sneakers.

Loburt, I can sense that you wish to end this topic at this very second and you seem bored to death with it.... but is the number of Western male who owns or used to own a pair of white sneakers more in UK than the rest of the planet?

Or would you rather discuss 'What turn you on?'
