What's your favorite beer? Pics will help.

I went to a liquor store today, and just walked down the beer fridge section for what could have been 20 minutes. I probably just stood there and "fire watched" for minutes at a time. Beer glorious beer.

I wish Thailand could get 5% of the beers that are available in other countries.

Anyway, back to the original question. What is your favorite beer?

on occasion, a nice bottle of Skullsplitter (perhaps the most honestly named beer in the world)

Skull Splitter is our strongest ale: which is named after Thorfinn Einarsson who was the 7th Viking Earl of Orkney. Sophisticated, satiny smooth with a deceptively light character, it is a tribute to our colourful forbear.

On the nose, this strong beer has a fruity malt character, with hints of dark fruit, spicy hop, dates and figs.

On the palate, rich and complex with sweet toasted malt, molasses, fresh and dried fruit and hints of warming spices.

Appearance

A crystal-clear, rich tawny-red colour beer; a tight, smooth head with hints of red and amber colour

Aroma

Juicy, almost fruity malt character, together with a medley of fresh and dried fruits, dates and figs, hints of ginger and cinnamon spice, hints of vanilla

Palate

A rich, fruity, wine-like complexity on the palate includes fresh and dried fruits, warm exotic spices, and light summer citrus fruits

Key Ingredients

Very best pale ale malt ? and plenty of it ? together with crystal and chocolate malts provide a rich, fruity backbone which is perfectly balanced by the spicy herbal character of East Kent Goldings hops

Oh, and it's 8.5%

second up is what may be the oldest style of ale still being brewed with a history stretching back 4 millennia.

Brewed in Scotland since 2000 B.C. heather ale is probably the oldest style of ale still produced in the world. From an ancient Gaelic recipe for "leann fraoich" (heather ale) it has been revived and reintroduced to the Scottish culture.

Into the boiling bree of malted barley, sweet gale and flowering heather are added, then after cooling slightly the hot ale is poured into a vat of fresh heather flowers where it infuses for an hour before being fermented.

A light amber ale with floral peaty aroma, full malt charachter, a spicy herbal flavour and dry wine like finish.

Recommended with : Rich and Spicy foods

Drink slightly chilled from a fluted glass. 5% abv

And on a night out at a bar or club in the city centre, will always try and go for proper Czech Budvar.

over 100 beers on tap and an additional 380 types of bottled beers!

I don't think I'll get a Heineken or a Singha...

Wish me luck!

That's Disneylands for CarianM.

Good luck, Rob

(don't forget to show us some pic)

It's been funny walking around looking like a tourist here. I actually do feel like a tourist...awkward at times.

I got carded when I tried to buy beer, which was funny...though I think they have to card anyone that looks under 40.

I like guinness and sierra nevada pale ale. There is a Scottish amber ale that I loved but can't remember the name. A friend made a similar batch at home but his wife found it in his basement and drank most of it before it was ready. Now I'm thirsty !

amber ale = pale ale (I think)

Wasn't IPA by any chance?? (India Pale Ale) (and yes I know - strange name for a Scottish ale)
